With winter just round the corner and after the fantastic summer we have all enjoyed it is easy to forget the important maintenance issues that we need to take care off before the cold snap hits. The simple things in life that we take for granted such as heating, hot water and a draft free house are all within our reach with a little tender care.
How to winter proof your home this winter?
There are a multitude of items that become so important during September. Now the kids are all back to school and those fantastic five star beach resorts are just a picture memory we all settle back into the daily grind of work, school runs and thinking about CHRISTMAS!!
Are we all forgetting some important items though? With the cold weather just around the corner and light drawing in, our home maintenance could mean the difference between cold and dark nights and that homely glow that we all look forward to at the end of the day.
What to check before the winter comes?
- Light bulbs?
- Is your heating working?
- Have you had your boiler serviced?
- Do your fires/wood burners work? (have you had the flue checked and cleaned)
- Do all your windows and doors work properly? (meet at the edges etc)
While some of the items listed above require a specialist some can easily be carried out by yourself and save you money. If you complete this checklist it will help your systems run through the winter giving you the reliability you require to keep you warm and cozy even on the darkest of winter nights.
